Synopsis

In L. M. Montgomery’s Anne of Avonlea, sixteen-year-old Anne Shirley becomes the village schoolteacher and takes on new responsibilities at Green Gables. As she guides her lively pupils and helps care for mischievous twins Davy and Dora, Anne’s good intentions lead to plenty of small surprises and comic predicaments. The gentle comedy comes from Anne’s imaginative plans, her students’ antics, and the affectionate relationships in Avonlea. It’s a lighthearted story about growing up, teaching, and finding joy in everyday life.
