Coffee and Repartee

Witty boardinghouse sketches
StyleDry WitGenreClassicDry Wit

Synopsis

At breakfast in a boardinghouse, a group of residents trade opinions and witty remarks. The center of the conversation is the “Idiot,” whose clever, unexpected observations regularly leave the other boarders scrambling for a reply. The book gathers comic sketches built around their banter and everyday topics. The fun comes from quick retorts, wordplay, and the contrast between the Idiot’s apparent foolishness and his sharp observations. Its humor relies on conversation and character rather than crude jokes.
