Just—William

A mischievous schoolboy's first scrapes
StyleCharacter-DrivenGenreClassicFiction

Synopsis

This collection introduces William Brown, an imaginative schoolboy whose plans rarely go as expected. With his friends—the Outlaws—he gets into scrapes at home, at school, and around the neighborhood, usually while trying to do something he considers perfectly sensible. The book was first published in 1922. William’s confidence, inventive schemes, and complete inability to see trouble coming make each story funny. The comedy comes from lively adventures and misunderstandings, giving the book a playful, clean tone.
