Synopsis

In Talbot Baines Reed’s The Adventures of a Three-Guinea Watch, a pocket watch tells the story of its travels from one owner to another. It begins with Charlie Newcome, a schoolboy facing the excitements and challenges of boarding school, and later follows the watch through further adventures far from home. The watch’s own perspective adds playful observations to a story about school life, growing up, and the people it meets. Its gentle humor and focus on friendship, responsibility, and character make it a wholesome adventure story.
